Pixie Breeze

Pixie Game
So, those two sims are modeling my Pixie Breeze and Pixie Game edits. These skins were requested here by an anonymous poster, and I figured I'd give it a shot. I only edited the faces, the bodies are completely enayla.
credits: Enayla, Jirka, Yost, Oepu, Ephemera
Models are not wearing any makeup.
~ Files are compressed, and smaller than the originals because I use the same body file for all the fit/fat stages, and the same face-file for all ages, and I fixed an issue with the scalp.
~ Each download also includes these pictures of the sims in-game, so you'll know which is which.
~ Only download one version (custom or gen/town). But you can have Enayla's original skins and mine in your game at the same time.
Download edits of pixie game and pixie breeze - Gen/Town
Download edits of pixie game and pixie breeze - Custom
sims file share download - custom
sims file share download - gen/town
I have a bit of a new technique for skin blending, and I really really like it. :]
also, I've started working on the rest of that person's requests, so keep an eye out for some supernatural enayla edits!
Have a nice day!

I'll test them in my game right now :)
Thank you for sharing!
Just one question:
Do you gen/town your skins like Pooklet does or do you have a special way how you do it?

Date: March 31st, 2010 05:43 pm (UTC)And I'm so glad! I love enayla's skins because they're all different, so I'm happy you like the edits.
I am working on them! There's a UV mapping issue I have to fix. And a LOT of meshes to edit. I can PM you the meshes gradually as I finish them, if you'd like? That's what I'm doing for the original requester.

Date: March 31st, 2010 05:46 pm (UTC)But I really like how they look now, I replaced the general greasy with some actual skin texture and tried to blend the odd shadows and highlights so they could work with more sim face-shapes.

Date: April 1st, 2010 03:02 pm (UTC)and I'm not sure what you mean. the actual technique for geneticizing skins is the same, always, but I know pooklet does her supernatural skins past 1.0. These skins aren't supernatural though, so they're just scaled by their tone. Darker skins are higher numbers and lighter skins are lower numbers.

Date: April 1st, 2010 03:07 pm (UTC)Well, first off I'm not going to try making pale skins into dark skins, I'm just going to use a dark base for dark skins and a light base for light skins.
And instead of selecting a nose I like or lips I like and then copy-pasting onto the skin I'm working on, and then playing with color balance/lightness/saturation to get them to match the skin, I'm just going to copy the whole other facefile and use layer masks to blend things together, and after It's nicely blended I can use color balance/lightness/saturation to make the skin blend even better or to create certain effects with color. And then after everything's all blended, I flatten the whole image and start going in with the burn tool, dodge tool, and blur tool to get every detail exactly how I want it. :]

Date: April 1st, 2010 03:12 pm (UTC)and I'll copypaste this from another reply I made to someone who asked the same question:

If you'd like a tutorial sort of thing, I MIGHT be able to make one, but I'm not sure if I can because I don't always do exactly the same thing when I blend a skin, sometimes I do different steps depending on the skin I'm editing and what it needs and what ideas I have for it.

Date: April 1st, 2010 03:14 pm (UTC)Any skin can use elf ears, that's something you make on the sim (click the last face template in CAS or bodyshop and you'll have a face with elf ears, and then you can change the rest of the face's features yourself to your liking.)

Date: April 1st, 2010 05:51 pm (UTC)Actually, I just wanted to know which values you give these skins when geneticizing.
I do geneticize skins myself if they're not already done and I align the values with those Pooklet chooses for her skins.
I hope, this is a better explanation of my question :D

Date: April 1st, 2010 07:08 pm (UTC)I think I made pixie breeze geneticized at somewhere around .5 or .6 and I made pixie game somewhere around .7 or .8
Sorry!

Date: April 11th, 2010 02:49 pm (UTC)Just to let you know, I'm using your techniques for skin blending and it has been totally worthwhile. And as you are one of the talented creators who inspired me to start skinblending, it would be lovely if you give me some feedback on my LJ, where I'm posting WIPs of my skinset. I hope it's not rude to post about my work here, but if it is, my apologies - and I won't feel offended at all if you delete this comment.
And I'm a big fan of your Enayla blends. They make Enayla skins actually usable, and much more beautiful for normal sims, not only prettypretties.
Thank you very much, and cheers!

I'm so glad you're skinblending, and I've sent you a friend request so that I can follow your journal more easily.
It's not rude at all, quite the opposite. I'm very flattered you chose to post this here, for me, when there are so many other talented creators out there.
I'm off to go comment on your journal, ok?
:]
