Date: August 22nd, 2012 04:18 am (UTC)Alternately, what I would suggest is putting your color layers OVER the "shading" layer and using the multiply/overlay/soft light effects on the color layer. (here is an example .psd : http://www.mediafire.com/?hdxth66q1zho19p)
Either way it will look mostly the same.

Date: August 22nd, 2012 03:46 pm (UTC)Yes, it would work the same way. You could put the pattern layer right over a color layer, too. Or you could put a color layer over a pattern, in both cases using those multiply/overlay/soft light effects.
